Arsene Wenger says Arsenal are ready to challenge for honours and are stronger now than they were last summer.
Although speculation continues to swirl around the future of captain and leading goalscorer Robin van Persie, with Manchester United reported to be stepping up attempts to sign him – Wenger has hailed the strength of his squad.
Also there is Speculation Alex Song could depart the club to join Barcelona however – the French boss insisted that no contact had been made between the two clubs and hit out at reports in the Spanish media.
“There’s nothing going on with Song,” Wenger is quoted as saying by The Sun. “There’s nothing in that.
“Song has three years on his contract, he’s not in the same situation as Robin van Persie.
“In Spain the newspapers are not really serious. We’ve had the experience of that. We’ve never had any contact with anybody from Barcelona”.

Olympic swimming champion Chad Le Clos visited Cobham on Wednesday, and couldn’t resist jumping in the pool to race some of our youngsters.
The South African, who is now the Olympic 200m butterfly champion, dropped by to tour the facilities at the Cobham training ground, and spoke at length with Petr Cech before taking to the water to face the relay team of Adam Phillip, Todd Kane, Sam Walker and Lucas Piazon.
